Procedures that exclude in the construction of the chaqueño cotton production phenomenom in Argentina
Abstract
In this article, the semiotic aspect of the identity conformation of Chaqueño Small Cotton Producers (Argentina) is tackled. From the critical analysis of discourse, and analyzing the communicative dimension of the phenomenon, we suggest recognizing marks of exclusion and abuse of power by those who have greater capacity for producing, reproducing and circulating their discourses, who constantly propose and define the fields of dialogue and their rules, excluding, through discourse procedures, those groups that do not have the capacity to reproduce their discourses in a massive way, such as the Chaqueño small cotton producers. It is considered that unraveling the communication mechanisms and the nature of communicative relations among different social actors is a possible path to the resolution of conflicts and situations of exclusion, such as those experienced by small producers in this region.
