The present research study had the objective of analyzing the collective efficiency (EC) of the citrus cluster from the central region in the state of Tamaulipas. For this purpose, 38 producers were surveyed to measure the collective efficiency index. Calculation of the localization coefficient and the Gini index was performed with information from the Service for Agrifood and Fishing Information. The results obtained show that there is a high concentration of the citrus production activity in the central region of Tamaulipas in comparison to the sector at the national level, and that in the state there prevails an unequal distribution of production, production value, surface sown, and surface harvested of citrus. It was found that the citrus cluster has a medium level of EC, reflecting the use of only some of the external economies and joint actions that this business conglomerate offers the companies located there.
