Abstract
The Colegio de Postgraduados publishing house and Mundi Prensa México present various aspects of “chayotli†or spine-free squash, in a compact volume of only 98 pages, which belongs to the successful series, Biblioteca Básica de Agricultura (Basic Agriculture Library). Although the book indicates within its covers that it was published in 2011, it was presented to the public in August 2012.
In this book, Jorge Cadena Ãñiguez and Ma. De Lourdes C. Arévalo Galarza, guide us on the journey travelled by these two professors-researchers of the Colegio de Postgraduados, together with their collaborators, for the Research Priority Lines, “Harmlessness, Quality of Foods and Biosafety†and “Agrarian Rural Communities, Ejidos and Local Knowledgeâ€, as well as in their Interdisciplinary Research Group on Sechium edule (GISEM, A.C.).
